50 OVER 50. CHARACTER FIRST. STORIES THE INDUSTRY KEEPS AVOIDING. THE THIRD ACT IS THE BEST ACT. BEING OLDER IS POWER.

THIRD ACT. FULL VOLUME.

Stories the industry keeps avoiding. Women who refuse to be background noise.

"Sexy doesn't just belong to the 25-year-old. The 85-year-old begging for the spotlight deserves her story told at full volume."

-The Honked Off Thesis.

A PRODUCTION COMPANY

We make stories the industry

keeps avoiding.

Being older is power. Each year we're alive, we carry more complexity. The industry treats that as a problem. Honked Off treats it as the point.

Honked Off is a production company built on a single conviction: the most interesting stories don't peak at 30. They start at 50, deepen at 65, and demand the spotlight at 80.

We develop and produce character-first films and series about women in their third act — not women aging gracefully, not women finding second chances, but women who are initiating, disrupting, and doing the most important work of their lives.

The industry has been chasing youth because it's afraid of complexity. We're not afraid of complexity. We think it's where the story gets good.

"We don't need another 30 Under 30. We need 50 Over 50 — because those are the people who've actually done something worth telling a story about."

Getting these stories made requires decisiveness, integrity, and the willingness to embrace the fear. Nobody really wants to tell them — not the way they should be told. That's exactly why we do.

What We Believe

Four
Convictions

01

Experience is the story

Experience is the most interesting thing a character can have. The industry has been wrong to treat it as a liability. We treat it as the foundation.

03

Integrity is non-negotiable

Getting these stories made requires decisiveness and integrity. Nobody really wants to tell them the right way. We refuse to cheapen the character or the story.

The industry chases youth because it's afraid of complexity — not because younger stories are more interesting. Here's what Honked Off believes instead.

02

Third act women are initiating

Women in their third act are not winding down. They are disrupting, initiating, and doing the most important work of their lives. That's a story worth telling.

04

50 Over 50

We don't need another 30 Under 30. We need 50 Over 50 — because those are the people who've actually done something worth telling a story about.

In Production
& Development

  • At 80 years old, post-conviction investigator Kitty Hailey is fighting to free a man she believes was wrongfully convicted. A rare and unflinching look at the investigative process, its ethical challenges, and what it costs to pursue justice when the system has already moved on.

  • Based on the book of the same title. A television series in early development — a story built for the Honked Off slate and the audience that's been waiting for it.

  • An intimate dramedy about a columnist in her 60s whose anonymous relationship column exposes cheating men. When a public scandal involving her much younger neighbor erupts, Louisa is forced into vulnerability — and the transformative risk of being fully seen.

The industry chases youth because it's afraid of complexity —
not because younger stories are more interesting.

Honked Off exists because these stories deserve to be told at full volume — with the same decisiveness, integrity, and refusal to take the easy way out that our subjects bring to their own lives.
